ABYZOR KEYS — User Manual

English-language guide to every screen, dialog, and workflow in ABYZOR Keys.

1. Introduction

ABYZOR Keys is a DJ library preparation tool. It analyzes your music files to detect musical key, BPM, energy, and structural cues, then helps you search, filter, match harmonically, and build playlists or full sets.

First launch

  1. Open ABYZOR Keys.
  2. On the Home screen, click Choose folder (or use Import → Import Folder in the top bar).
  3. Select a folder containing audio files (MP3, WAV, FLAC, AIFF, M4A, AAC).
  4. Tracks are imported and analyzed in the background. You can browse the Library while analysis runs.
  5. After a large import, you may see How should we analyze your library? — choose a speed preset (light vs fast).

Key concepts

Concept Meaning
Analyzed Key and BPM are ready; track is usable in filters and playlists.
Pending / Queued / Analyzing Analysis has not finished yet.
Enriching Background pass adding vocals, structure, and extra metadata.
Needs review Key or BPM confidence is below your threshold — open the Review queue.
Missing File path no longer exists on disk — use Relink.
Confidence How sure ABYZOR is about key/BPM; low values appear in the review queue.

System requirements

Supported platforms

  • Windows: Windows 10 or later (64-bit)
  • macOS: macOS 12 Monterey or later (Intel or Apple Silicon)
  • Portable zip — no Python install required

Minimum

  • CPU: Dual-core processor (64-bit)
  • RAM: 4 GB
  • Storage: ~500 MB for the app + extra space for your music library and local cache (waveforms, artwork, database)
  • Display: 1280×720 or higher
  • Audio: Standard speakers or headphones for preview
  • Internet: Optional (updates, license activation, Pro purchase on abyzor.space). Key/BPM analysis works fully offline.

Recommended

  • CPU: Quad-core processor or better
  • RAM: 8 GB or more (smoother batch imports and background analysis)
  • Storage: SSD
  • Display: 1920×1080 or higher

Performance notes

  • Typical analysis: ~10 seconds per track (varies with file length and settings)
  • Large libraries (1,000+ tracks): first import can take a while; use Settings → Analysis → “Keep PC usable” if you want to use the PC while analyzing
  • Your audio files stay on your drive — ABYZOR Keys does not upload your library

3. Home

The Home screen is your landing page after launch.

Empty library

If no tracks are imported, you see an empty state with:

  • Import Folder — pick a music folder
  • Import Files — pick individual audio files
  • Drag-and-drop support for folders and files

4. Library

The Library is the main workspace for browsing, filtering, previewing, and managing tracks. The Harmonic Explorer is built into Library — there is no separate sidebar item for it.

Layout

Three columns:

  1. Left — Smart Collections — Built-in and custom filtered views.
  2. Center — Track list — Search, filters, preview panel, table or grid view.
  3. Right — Harmonic Explorer + Inspector Lite — Circle of Fifths or compatibility matrix, match cards, and per-track metadata editor.

Smart Collections

Built-in collections include Recent, Favorites, Peak Time, Warmup, Closing, and Experimental.

  • Click a collection to filter the track list.
  • New Smart Collection… opens the rule editor.
  • Right-click a custom collection to Edit or Delete.
  • After applying filters manually, use Save as Smart Collection to persist them.

Search and filters

Search bar supports plain text and grammar tokens, for example:

  • bpm:120 — BPM around 120
  • key:Am — tracks in A minor
  • artist:aretha — artist name

Filter chips add structured filters: Key, BPM, Energy, Genre, Rating, Status, Confidence, Harmonic compatibility, and Tags. Use + Add filter or Clear all.

Toggle between List and Grid view.

  • New, Rename, and Delete playlist
  • Track count shown in the header

Building a playlist

  1. Search tracks in Search tracks to add… and click Add.
  2. Or add selected tracks from Library (Ctrl+P, context menu, or bulk bar).
  3. Each row shows artwork thumbnail, title, artist, BPM badge, key badge, and duration.
  4. Drag rows to reorder.
  5. Remove tracks with the × button on each row.

Set stats

When the playlist has tracks, a stats line shows average BPM, average energy, and raw vs mixed duration (minutes).
