Local AI + themes. Optional generation through the separate ABYZOR AI Module, a rebuilt AI workflow panel, and interface themes — procedural Genesis stays fully usable without the module.
New
- ABYZOR AI Module integration — dedicated AI MODULE tab: Transform, Pitch Remix, and Keep Groove modes
- Review flow — setup → generate → review with original vs candidate piano-roll preview
- Local engine discovery — finds the installed module via
%LOCALAPPDATA%\ABYZOR\shared-engine.json(Windows) or~/Library/Application Support/ABYZOR/(macOS) - Status + CTA — clear chip and GET AI MODULE when the module is not installed
- Interface themes — Dark (default), Light, and High Contrast; theme menu in the title bar, persisted across sessions
- Header & ecosystem — unified top bar: brand, seed chip, AI block, and ABYZOR Variations / One links
UI & Workflow
- AI Module panel — control rail + stage (settings stay visible during review)
- MIDI VALIDATION tab removed — validation still runs internally on refine paths
- Procedural REFINE (Make it musical) on the piano roll unchanged; duplicate public Refine With AI entry point removed
- High Contrast — improved readability across controls
Fixes
- AI Module update overlay — content populated before the modal is shown
- Review cancel and centered generating overlay on the stage
- Startup — AI update chip, popup, and manifest retry
- macOS CI — UTF-8 source encoding and public grid constants for block generation
Note: The ABYZOR AI Module is a separate download from ABYZOR AI Module v1.0.3. Genesis works without it for procedural MIDI. See also ABYZOR MIDI AI for the full workflow.
Release Information
Call & Response Blocks. Structured block generation (A|B) with a dedicated toolbar and reliable partial regeneration — write musical dialogue, not just a flat loop.
New
- BLOCKS mode — splits the loop in half: block A (question/tension) + block B (answer/resolution), aligned across melody, bass, chords, and arpeggio
- Per-block harmony — distinct progressions: A ends in tension; B resolves to tonic
- REGEN BLOCK — regenerate only block A or B, keeping the other intact (SHAPE + FEEL + MUSIC; morph excluded)
- REFINE — blue toolbar button before BLOCKS: "Make it musical" — structures the pattern as call → response; one-click undo
- Adaptive REFINE — ABAC form aligned with BLOCKS: call intact; section 3 = faithful echo of bar 1; section 4 = improved B
- Grid generation — all patterns (melody, bass, chords, arpeggio, BLOCKS, mutate) snap to 0.25 beat; minimum duration 0.25 beat; impossible micro-notes eliminated
- BLOCKS toolbar — toggle BLOCKS, A/B selection, and REGEN in the strip above the piano roll (Piano Roll tab)
- Piano roll — visual A|B split (shading + vertical line) when BLOCKS is active and length ≥ 2 bars
- BLOCKS off by default — single-loop behaviour preserved (compatible with existing projects and seeds)
UI
- BLOCKS as master parameter — with BLOCKS OFF, A/B and REGEN are disabled; visual split only when BLOCKS is ON
- Hierarchical tooltips — A/B/REGEN indicate that BLOCKS must be active
- A/B toggle — selection resets when BLOCKS is turned off; defaults to A when re-enabled
- Minimum length — BLOCKS only available with loop ≥ 2 bars
Fixes
- REGEN wrong block — explicit A/B target (
regenBlockTarget+ radio group); REGEN no longer uses ambiguous toggle state - Preserved block intact — phrase extensions and overlap resolution applied only to the regenerated block before merge
- Stale preview after REGEN — when PREVIEW is playing, REGEN updates timbre and pattern in real time; active voices are cleared to cut old audio
Note: blockMode is not included in the seed codec in this release. Partial
regeneration marks the pattern as Custom.

Release Information
Release focused on more musical harmonic generation, style-aware audio preview with per-role timbres, and a History workflow to save and recall patterns.
Generation improvements
- Harmonic timeline — chord progressions per genre/preset; melodies, bass, and arpeggios aligned to each bar's chord.
- Dissonance budget — out-of-chord notes limited by phrase position and complexity.
- Duration profiles per preset — rhythmic buckets per style (Techno, House, Trance, DnB, Ambient, Cinematic…) blended via Note Length.
- Phrase extensions — natural lengthening at loop endings.
- More robust chords — validation with retry and safe triad fallback; extended chords through the full timeline.
- Style variants (Profile A–H) — 8 profiles per preset with density, complexity, and repetition deltas.
Audio preview
- Timbres per role and genre — Melody, Bassline, Chords, and Arpeggio with distinct waveforms, supersaw, bell, detune, and pan spread.
- EQ per voice — high-pass / low-pass according to role.
- Refined engine — 32 voices, reverb, limiter, chord choke.
- History preview — PLAY on a saved entry uses the stored timbre with the pattern.
- Playback fix — main preview and History no longer stop after ~100 ms (separate
prepare()fromstop(); conditional monitor by sample rate).
History workflow

processBlockinside the DAW, plus local monitor outside the DAW. - Multi-oscillator engine (dual osc, sub, unison, saturation) with automatic timbres per pattern type.
- Distinct presets for Melody, Bassline, Chords, and Arpeggio — improved playback inside DAWs.
Interface
- Left panel: DRAG MIDI and EXPORT MIDI moved to the left footer; neon Upgrade to Variations button with modal (GENESIS coupon); removed PREVIEW | KEY | RANGE bar above the piano roll; SYNTH section removed from UI.
- Right panel: Reorganized layout — Category/Preset → Harmony → Pattern/Length → Groove/Contour → two rows of rotary knobs.
- New GROOVE combo (Auto, Grid, Straight 16, Swing 16, House Shuffle, DnB) and CONTOUR combo.
- Rotary knob rows: Density, Complexity, Note Length, Tension; then Groove Amt, Velocity, Octave.
- HUMANIZE label dynamically becomes GROOVE AMT when groove is not Grid; left-panel insight shows resolved groove and contour after generate.
DAW Compatibility
- VST3 reclassified as instrument (
IS_SYNTH) for Ableton and similar hosts. - Dummy stereo in/out buses; relaxed
isBusesLayoutSupported. - MIDI out with PPQ loop + passthrough when no active pattern.
- Routing hint: Track 1 Genesis | Track 2 MIDI From.
Generation Improvements
- Beat weighting — rhythmic hierarchy (downbeats vs offbeats) instead of uniform 16th probability.
- Scale degree weighting — tonal center for melodies (root/fifth weighted; complexity flattens distribution).
- Groove templates — microtiming and accents per template; depth via Groove Amt knob.
- Melodic contours — directional movement shaping (Arch, Ascend, Descend, Plateau, Valley).
- Seeds format v1 (25 chars) with groove, contour, and tension; v0 seeds remain readable.
Technical
renderHostSyncedBlockand synth API retained in code but disabled by default (synthOutputEnabledfalse).- JUCE 7:
